FAWPAR Cited In Pubmed

Food and Waterborne Parasitology is now cited in Pubmed!

PubMed is a free resource supporting the search and retrieval of peer-reviewed biomedical and life sciences literature with the aim of improving health–both globally and personally.  The PubMed database contains more than 30 million citations and abstracts of peer-reviewed biomedical literature. It does not include full-text journal articles; however, links to the full text are often present when available from other sources, such as the publisher’s website or PubMed Central (PMC).  Available to the public online since 1996, PubMed was developed and is maintained by the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI), at the U.S. National Library of Medicine (NLM), located at the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

Food and Waterborne Parasitology’s 2018 Cite Score of 3.35 ranks in the 86th percentile (#9 of 61) among parasitology journals and continues to increase.  Papers published in the journal are indexed and searchable in PubMed Central as well as Google Scholar and Scopus – the world’s largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature.

Special Issue on zoonotic Echinococcus species

A special Issue in FAWPAR has been dedicated to zoonotic Echinococcus species. It is a compilation of invited papers that spans important aspects from molecular markers of emergence, diagnostics in both definitive and intermediate hosts, treatment of human alveolar echinococcosis, to control strategies in definitive hosts.

FAWPAR Special Issue Published

The IAFWP in partnership with the World Association for the Advancement of Veterinary Parasitology (WAAVP) organized a symposium on Food and Waterborne Parasites that was held at the 2017 International Conference of the WAAVP in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on September 6, 2017. Several major presentations were given by invited experts who reviewed specific topics in food and waterborne parasitology as related to public health challenges, and advances in the prevention of human disease.  A Special Issue based on five of the invited presentations has now been published in IAFWP’s journal, Food and Waterborne Parasitology, and is freely available to all readers (https://www.sciencedirect.com/journal/food-and-waterborne-parasitology/vol/8/suppl/C). Financial support for the symposium was kindly provided by Thermo Fisher Scientific, SafePath Laboratories and New Life Diagnostics.
