World Association for the Advancement of Veterinary Parasitology (WAAVP)

Mission Statement

The association is dedicated to encouraging research in veterinary parasitology and promoting the exchange of information and material amongst researchers, veterinary practitioners and animal health investigators.

Goals/Objectives

The WAAVP holds a biennial conference attracting attendees from around the globe. The conferences cover all aspects of veterinary parasitology. Other conference activities include award presentations, special symposia and workshops and discussions mixed with a good helping of fun!
The WAAVP prepares and publishes a newsletter for members twice a year. The newsletter includes areas of new development, reports on conferences, articles submitted by members, readers’ letters and other relevant items of interest. This allows information and requests to be circulated to members in an informal way and relevant contributions are always welcome.
The WAAVP, which is affiliated with the World Veterinary Association, cooperate with various national, international and affiliated organizations in all veterinary parasitology matters. The WAAVP publishes anthelmintic guidelines and participates in the development of the official VICH guidelines for anthelmintic testing.
